Industry Placement for Strength and Weaknesses - myassignmenthelp
Question: Discuss about theIndustry Placement for Strength and Weaknesses. Answer: The home care sector is a commercial industry that has since been growing over the years. With people spending less time at home, they need care services for their family members who need extra care. The home care service sector provides assistance for people with disability and those who are old. It ensures that this populace has better living standards and gives support to family members who take care of them. New product packages in the industry provide help for even those who prefer independent living conditions. As such, this industry placement paper will focus on Australian Unity which offers home care services. Australian Unity is a home care provider that operates in approximately eighteen communities all around Australia. The home care provider concentrates on providing care to people in old age, those with disability and aboriginal home care services. It also focuses on providing insurance scheme for people with disability. The home care service provides solutions to better-living conditions. For the old people, the Australian Unity offers necessities and assistance. It also extends its care provision to young people who are recovering from an operation. Additionally, Australian Unity is the largest provider of specialized and culturally appropriate services for Aboriginal people in Australia. It provides services that are flexible for the client ("Home Services | Australian Unity", 2017). Health care clients require high quality services at a 24/7 hour system; this kind of flexibility is required to enhance growth. Apart from providing home care services, Australian Unity has diversified its portfolio into achieving financial sustainability. Its primary focus is providing medical and retirement insurance services to a diverse target market ("financial-advice", 2017). Besides, the organization has invested in various in real estate to provide financial capital that it channels towards delivering better home care services. Effective capital management enhances financial stability to the health care industry in the nation. Following an analysis of Australian Unity, the company has the potential for growth as the industry gets assistance from the government. Particularly for Australian Unity, the company has the opportunities to diversify its portfolio to reduce business risks and increase its profitability ("Home Services | Australian Unity", 2017). Australian Unity operates in an industry that has high market entry barrier. The home care service sector does not entirely provide financial sustainability. Also, most of the clients prefer a home package. It is for this reason that Australian Unity draws a strength over its competitors. The sector has market entry barriers. Besides, Australian Unity enjoys government funding. The home sector is part of the medical insurance and retirement programs provided by the federal administration. Australian Unity has gained government backing over the years as it offered quality home care services. Alternatively, Australian Unity has opportunities to diversify its products to suit its clients. The industry shows potential in growth and peoples income levels are gradually increasing ("Australian Unity - SWOT analysis. Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats for over 40,000+ companies and industries", 2017). Conversely, due to the expansion of its products, Australian Unity has acquired some weaknesses. Its brand portfolio is diversified in a manner that does not minimize industrial risks. Besides, as technology advances, the company has to adopt various technology systems to increase its efficiencies. It high dependence on government funding provides a high business risk in case such funding is delayed or regulated. On the other hand, Australian Unity has to deal with business threats that arise from its external environment and technology issues. Though highly praised for its employee efficiency, Australian Unity faces a significant threat from employee turnover. The company has replaced its staff regularly thus incurring costs in recruiting and training new employees. Besides, on the customer-base front, it needs to acquire a stable and broad customer base to stabilize its profits and ensure financial sustainability (McMurray, 2017). The home care sector gains financing from the government and other sources of funds for private-owned businesses. The government provides funding for the home sector as the industry is an extension of medical care. Besides, inadequate care provided to the old people by their families and abandonment of people with disability increase the chances of this population to drop into poverty. Thus in an aim to reduce poverty, the Australian government provides sponsorship to organizations in the home sector services. Australian Unity is one of such companies which is known for the aboriginal disability care services ("Home Care Packages | Home Care Services | Australian Unity", 2017). As a leading firm in-home care service, Australian Unity gains financing from the government and internal sources. The company provides insurance services for its clientele that covers medical and retirement cases. It prices its products based on the financial background and the health condition of its customers. Before applying for home care services at Australian Unity, one has to fill a form that allows the company to screen the client based on their case and price the service ("Funding eligibility for home services | Australian Unity", 2017). It also allows the company to customize the product to suit the client. Similarly, like other insurance companies, Australian Unity provides insurance policies based on the health condition, age, financial background among other factors. It uses client information to price its premiums and makes insurance payments in case the insured risks are incurred. For the retirement package, Australian Unity ensures that the families of retirees mainta in their lifestyle through retirement insurance services ("Aged care costs explained | Australian Unity", 2017). Besides, Australian Unity portfolio focuses on provided advisory services on the type of insurance to take and the best home care package for old and people with disabilities. It is imperative to note that, unlike other sectors, the home sector is highly controlled by the government. Since the government pays for a significant portion of the home care services, individuals who seek the product have to be deemed eligible by the Aged Care Assessment Team. It is a government body that screens individuals who apply for home care services. During the application, the person chooses the provider they wish to give the care services. Once one is approved for home care, then Australian Unity may take the pricing of the services based on the type of care that the applicant requires. As such, pricing of home care is based on government eligibility approval and the kind of assistance needed by the client ("Funding eligibility for home services | Australian Unity", 2017). Australian Unity operates in various communities and has established home care facilities to assist the old and those with a disability. Like many home care facilities, overcrowding is an issue. However, Australian Unity has dealt with the problem by constructing large establishments to provide adequate space for its clients. Additionally, the home care sector is shifting towards giving flexible assistance services that allow the customers with a disability to live independently. This trend has enabled Australian Unity to deal with overcrowding ("Home Care Packages | Home Care Services | Australian Unity", 2017). Overcrowding in the health care facilities makes customers feel uncomfortable and industrial placement has narrowed this gap by alleviating the menace. Following the case of Australian Unity, its main issues and threats arise from its portfolio and the instability of its consumer base. Australian Unity faces business risks in the insurance industry. This risk may provide financial costs to the company. Besides, the volatility of its clientele base threatens its sustainability. Thus, Australian Unity should focus on establishing a brand that aims towards retaining customers through increased customer satisfaction. Besides, minimizing business risks and hedging its portfolio reduces financial costs ("Australian Unity Group increases first half revenue by 43 percent, profit by 16 percent", 2017). Australian Unity would be an ideal company for my industrial placement. The corporation centers on providing home care services and insurance coverage for the old people and those with disabilities. Its diversified portfolio allows the company to sustain its financial viability but also includes business risks. Working at Australian Unity would provide avenues for professional growth and exposure. Professional exposure would put Australia as a nation at an optimal point over which explosion of the countrys maximum potential would be met. Financial stability creates viability of projects execution as well as their completion and this is another critical aim for industrial placement in Australia. Industrial placement therefore needs to get encouraged in order to enhance professional exposure, growth, development, and sustainability in the entire nation. The elevator cene in the Film Speed Essay Example For Students
The elevator cene in the Film Speed Essay The film speed is a fast moving action movie that has been hugely popular. This is mainly to do with its useful source of suspense. The film speed does master the art of keeping you focused on the film, the non-stop action and unrealistic ness of the film takes you away from reality and puts you into an exciting situation. Jan De Bont skilfully directed the film speed and uses suspense through out the film and relieves tension when needed. I will be looking at how different factors affect the suspense and how effectively these can be used. Music and sound effects can make a film, if sound effects and music are not handled and used properly it can often ruin any chances of being a success. As technology has changed over the years music has dominated the major part of a film. You find that an action film such as speed relies on visuals and music rather than actual dialogue. In the 19th century there would be a live pianist who would play dramatic music when it was needed, this was because the technology was not advanced enough to be able to put music to films therefore a pianist was needed to create the suspense. We will write a custom essay on The elevator cene in the Film Speed specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now This shows the importance of music. The main effect of music is to involve the viewers in what is happening and increases the tension and excitement of the situation. The music tempo or beat increases when reaching a climax of suspense then quickly dies down to keep the viewers interested and keen. In the elevator scene of the film speed the music gets increasingly dramatic when the film credits appear at the start of the film. This creates suspense, as you know that something exciting is about to happen and builds up the anticipation of an enjoyable film. The effect of suspense enhanced by music and sound affects can make peoples adrenalin rush causing sweating, increased breathing and fear which people find exhilarating. Silence is used to create suspense by allowing a moment in time, which the outcome is unknown or can even be used as a quick build up or release of tension. Sound effects are a modern way of transferring sounds in a film, which would take place in real life, they are created. Sound effects in this particular film include explosions that are very real, effective and exaggerated, increasing the thrill and excitement. The dialogue is fast, concise sentences that have a very strict structure. It is mostly in the form of commands and the action hero tends to be the guy who relieves tension through comic relief. Voices in Speed communicate feelings of calmness or fear. Commands give a sense of control and calmness, but shouting a sense of fear and panic. Screaming is the showing of extreme fear often by women at times of panic. Dialogue is used to tell the story, but in action packed films, music and sound effects play an important part to a good film. The villain talks in an aggressive, sharp manner, which makes you, dislike him. The hero dialogue is selected to depict a perfect image of a man who is capable of saving the world The use of the camera to create tension is a specialist art. The camera work in the elevator scene of Speed depicts this. The camera effect when the lift is falling is called tilt giving a sense of speed of the descending lift. Faces of the lift hostages are shown in close-up using the zoom lens, which adds to the suspense. The angle of the camera shot towards the actor can tell the audience more about the character. Sometimes fast rotating camera shots can disorientate the audience, giving a sense of travel sickness or vertigo, which could inhibit entertainment value. Foreshadowing, when scenes have information in them that may be part of the unfolding story line e. g. These have an important role in increasing suspense and unpredictability and sometimes some red herrings. Colour has a role to play in setting the right scene, red means danger whereas cool colours symbolises safety and reassurance i. .uabef0f32fa1a84e2e1bc4bfc54398a59 , .uabef0f32fa1a84e2e1bc4bfc54398a59 .postImageUrl , .uabef0f32fa1a84e2e1bc4bfc54398a59 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .uabef0f32fa1a84e2e1bc4bfc54398a59 , .uabef0f32fa1a84e2e1bc4bfc54398a59:hover , .uabef0f32fa1a84e2e1bc4bfc54398a59:visited , .uabef0f32fa1a84e2e1bc4bfc54398a59:active { border:0!important; } .uabef0f32fa1a84e2e1bc4bfc54398a59 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .uabef0f32fa1a84e2e1bc4bfc54398a59 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .uabef0f32fa1a84e2e1bc4bfc54398a59:active , .uabef0f32fa1a84e2e1bc4bfc54398a59:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .uabef0f32fa1a84e2e1bc4bfc54398a59 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .uabef0f32fa1a84e2e1bc4bfc54398a59 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .uabef0f32fa1a84e2e1bc4bfc54398a59 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .uabef0f32fa1a84e2e1bc4bfc54398a59 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .uabef0f32fa1a84e2e1bc4bfc54398a59:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .uabef0f32fa1a84e2e1bc4bfc54398a59 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .uabef0f32fa1a84e2e1bc4bfc54398a59 .uabef0f32fa1a84e2e1bc4bfc54398a59-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .uabef0f32fa1a84e2e1bc4bfc54398a59:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: At first glance, Beowulf appears to be an epic exclusively about Christian values, and how it influenced the Anglo-Saxons of this time Essaye. blue. Interpretation of colour can depict mood and feelings of characters and their surroundings. Bright colours give a sense of happiness, dark colours sadness. The story line needs to be simple but effective with a few main strong characters. There will always be the good guy the hero and the bad guy who is often the villain with an evil and twisted background, who usually wants revenge. The theme often results in the good conquering evil. The story line needs to be simple to enable the audience to watch the film, following it wit hout confusion and be entertained. The film Speed has all the right ingredients for an action packed, highly entertaining experience. The plot has a hero who has a sidekick, a villain and a beautiful woman, also other characters that add interest to the film. Foreshadowing includes the heros friend, who is killed in an explosion, and the effect it has on him, anger and aggression, which is focused on finding who is responsible. At this time in the film little is said, silence shows thought and planning of how he will seek his revenge. This allows the audience to try and think what he might do, to use their imagination, keeping their interest to see if the action matches their thoughts. It gives a sense of being part of the film. Jack is the typical hero, young, charming, handsome and single with an attractive personality. Someone willing to take risks appears fearless in the sight of danger, which makes him attractive to women and wins the heart of the beautiful lady in the film. This person seems to be unreal the way he survives everything, almost invincible. The hero is the leading actor, someone who is popular in the film industry already, which acts as a guarantee for success. The success of the film is that you are transfixed by the action and excitement of the plot, which keeps you in suspense the duration of the film. The elevator scene is particularly exhilarating with the excellent camera work and resourceful use of suspense. Everything has been taken into consideration; the attention to detail makes this a well thought out film. I think that the use of explosives and other special effects enhance the film and kept me sitting on the edge of my seat. The happy ending with the couple in each others arms was an appropriate ending to a dramatic and sometimes scary film, which was a calming influence after so much violence. It is a stereotypical story line, which I dont particularly like, but is popular (especially for my Mum! ). The producer and director (Jan De Bont) created a marvellous suspense film, much appreciated by the public, who attended cinemas and made it a financial success. With high impact stunts that defied belief, the word soon got round that this film was not to be missed, assuring its success. This guaranteed a sequel of the film, which was made, called Speed 2.

The Carbone family Essay Example
The Carbone family Essay Example The Carbone family Essay The Carbone family Essay This is where Catherine tries to find her own independence. She tells Eddie that he should be happy for her, and that shell see him around the neighbour hood. Also that she cannot stay there any longer. Eddie repeats him self again. You aint goin nowheres. At the moment Eddie seems to be in control of himself and is forcing his will on Catherine. Catherine is in tears now and tries to tell Eddie that she can handle her self. Eddie, Im not gonna be a baby no more! You - (He reaches out suddenly, draws her to him, and as she strives to free herself her kisses her on the mouth. ) Rodolpho immediately does the manliest thing that hes ever done in the play and stops Eddie. Dont(He pulls on Eddies arm)Stop that! Have respect for her! Rodolpho stands up to Eddie to protect Catherine, he does this as he tells Eddie that Catherine will be his wife which is what he wants his wife. Eddie starts to provoke and tease Rodolpho, Eddie does this as he believes that Rodolpho can do nothing to harm him, he also thinks that now he has kissed Catherine she knows how a real man kisses and will stay. Rodolpho can no longer take the teasing that Eddie is doing. (With tears of rage) (Rodolpho flies at him in attack. Eddie pins his arms, laughing, and suddenly kisses him. ) This is extremely unexpected and it shocks the audience and repels them. Eddie laughs at Rodolpho who is horror and rigid on the floor. Catherine also stars in horror as Eddie laughs mockingly. Eddie some how believes that by kissing Rodolpho he has shown Rodolphos true sexuality, and that he enjoyed it. (To Catherine) You see? (To Rodolpho) I give you till tomorrow, kid. Get outa here. Alone. You hear me? Alone. Eddie has violently and aggressively forced Catherine and Rodolpho to kiss him. These kisses could be a sign of Eddie suppressed sexual feelings as he and Beatrice have not been intimate for a while. The language in A View From The Bridge is different and mixed, Eddie Beatrice and Catherine use short, simple sentences, colloquial and uneducated, fitting with the view of Red Hook being a poor, uneducated area. Alfieri, the lawyer, has an educated, almost upper class style of language, because he is a professional. Rodolpho has a witty and entertaining style and he can gain interest with this (interest which Eddie wishes he wouldnt get). Marco says little in the play, apart from Act II he becomes more involved. He is soft spoken and thinks before he says anything. He is more of a physical force that Eddie must not cross but will should he harm Rodolpho. The characters in A View From The Bridge were originally small parts, but they were enlarged later on. In the American Society of the 1950s women were portrayed as weak and were only around to cook, clean and have children. Catherine is nai ve as she is unaware of how inappropriate it is for her to walk around in her slip, or watch and talk to Eddie while he shaves in his underwear. This is something that couples and married couples do. Catherine starts to tears away from Eddie when she finds someone who will love and protect her. Beatrice, Eddies wife is very understanding. Her love for Eddie knows no boundaries, she still loves him after he reports her cousins, and even though she knows that something is not right with Eddie. Beatrice is jealous of Catherine and Eddies relationship and she openly addresses Eddies lack of intimacy with her. When am I gonna be a wife again, Eddie? Beatrice wants Eddies approval as they are married and she needs it more that their niece. She forgives him for the whole incident with Catherine, whereas most women would leave any man attempting something so twisted as incest in my opinion. Alfieri is one of the most important roles in the play. He is the bridge between the two societies of America and Italy. He stays true to his ethnic identity. He is a well educated man who studies and respects American life. Alfieri constantly informs the audience and provides a commentary on what is happening. Alfieri gives Eddie epic proportions when Eddie comes to see him about getting rid of Marco and Rodolpho without informing the Immigration Bureau. I looked in his eyes more than I listened in fact, I can hardly remember the conversation. But I will never forget how dark the room became when he looked at me; his eyes were like tunnels. This makes A View From The Bridge seem more like a Greek Tragedy. Alfieri makes Eddie sound like a legendary character. Alfieri is similar to Arthur Miller as he is the teller of a great story and cannot change anything. Life in the 1950s for men and women would have been strict. For example many men these days take jobs that are feminine such as hairdressing, in Eddies view that aint right. Society has changed and most women now work and there are not many housewives any more. Law allows women to work and they can do manly jobs such as joining the army and becoming an officer, join the police force etc. Many men are similar to Rodolpho nowadays as they cook, clean, dance, sing, and some design clothes. The society has changed a great deal since the 1950s. Through out the play we as the audience, learn a lot about the characters and the people involved in each scene. Eddie is a complicated man, who because of his lack of education finds it hard to express himself, he can only do this through aggression and hostility. Beatrice gains a little more power over Eddie as he dies in her arms, he goes back to her. In a way I think that Eddie considers Beatrice to be a kind of safety net, because he knows that shell always be there for him. Catherine who is young, innocent and vulnerable in the play is happily unaware of Eddies desires towards her. Catherine ends up standing up to Eddie and questioning his authority when he says that they cant go to her wedding and why Beatrice listens to him. (Clearing from Beatrice)What are you scared of? Hes a rat! He belongs in a sewer! From this form of aggression shown by Catherine, when Eddie dies she tells him Eddie, I never meant to do nothing bad to you. She never meant to hurt him, but she was angry because of what he did. Marco changes in Act II, he plays a bigger part and is in more of the action, whereas Rodolphos character sort of fades into the background. Marco becomes bitter and passionate at the same time. He seeking revenge, because Eddie grassed on him to the Bureau and his country as he says In my country he would be dead now. He would not live this long. These many acts of manliness and hostility from some of the characters towards the others leads to aggression, which at the end, escalates as we find out about the happenings and goings on towards the end. This behaviour which is used throughout the play leads to the destruction and death of a happy family. Eddie was not afraid to show or share his views on the two submarines, this finally led to his fate, of him losing his social identity and this own death. Miller has shown a wide variety of theatrical techniques throughout this play through the dialogue, imagery, vocabulary, stage directions. When I read these two scenes I had my own views and pictures in my mind of how it would be acted out and how the characters had formed and how they became and acted they ways that they do. These two scenes are very important as they link the themes together, and create tension, excitement and give you an idea of 1950s Brooklyn, well the slums anyway. I think that certain elements in the play, although they have not been elaborated on are the close-nit community that the Carbone family lives in. The three themes are all linked to this idea of what it means to be a man. When I first read this play, I found it in a way disturbing to contemplate something such as Eddies incestuous desires for his young niece. All the way through the play is riveting and keeps you interested.

Global Issues. Land Reclamation. What are the alternatives to Research Paper - 1
Global Issues. Land Reclamation. What are the alternatives to expanding a nation's economy rather than land reclamation - Research Paper Example ts in four categories which comprise of Draining of wetlands, Building of artificial islands, Floating platforms built out above the water, and Housing built on poles over water. The draining of flooded wetlands is frequently used to reclaim land for agricultural use, port expansions or industrial use. As the world develops, the population increases and the demand for infrastructures of business, commercial, and housing are on the rise. Countries like Japan, Hong Kong, and Singapore, used this method as a way of solving the land problems in their states. In the United States, all techniques of land reclamation have been applied, but the primary one is by irrigation. Under the 1902 reclamation act, the Bureau of Reclamation provides water that has been sponsored by taxpayers to agriculturalists in dry areas in seventeen western states. The aims of reclamation include flood control, recreation, and hydroelectric power generation. Moreover, Land reclamation is not the only way a nation can improve its economy. There exist numerous ways a nation can improve its economy rather than destroying the coastline. A country can decide to major in fish production to improve its revenues, or the rare species that exist in the oceans can be a tourist attraction that will improve a countrys econo my through tourism, among others. The purpose of this study is to find out why land refilling is a concern and its historical and global context. Also, we are going to look at the reasons we should act on the landfilling issue as soon as possible and the possible solutions. Lastly, we will relate this issue as it is with Bahrain. The paper will seek to answer the question of alternatives to expanding a nationââ¬â¢s economy instead of land reclamation (Zeballos and Yamaguchi, 690). Reclamation is not just a local issue, but also a worldwide issue. Due to this, it has an immense significance in the current days. The landfill has been shown to produce more wealth globally, through altering

Education in Saudi Arabia and the United States of America Essay Example for Free
Education in Saudi Arabia and the United States of America Essay Education continues to be the priority of all nations around the world. Countries devote vast resources to ensure equal opportunity to study for their people. In return, the educated segment of the population becomes the wealth of these nations and will more likely meet the social and economic demands of the country. The educational systems are continuously developed to meet not just the local but also the global demands and challenges. It is more appropriate to look at the disparity on the education sector of one country to another in order to determine what needs to be improved and developed in oneââ¬â¢s educational system. This paper aims to provide an assessment on the similarities and differences of education in two countries, Saudi Arabia and the United States of America (USA). The education in Saudi Arabia and the USA are similar in terms of government spending on education, freedom to choose the school where they will attend to, and education for people with special needs, while differ in terms of attitude towards education, literacy rate, religion in school, gender roles, grading scales, and stages of education. Both the Saudi Arabia and USA government spend immense resources on the education sector. The Saudi Arabia governmentââ¬â¢s increased awareness on the importance of education to its people paved way to its provision of bountiful support to education. Like the USA government, the Saudi Arabia government finance general education for both boys and girls. It also provides free post-secondary education and offers financial help to students. At cases, meals, books, and transportation are subsidized. In the same way, the USA government offers free general and post-secondary education for all financed by the government. In both countries, students are also allowed to choose what school they will attend to. They have the options to enroll in public, private, or home school. Most of the parents prefer to send their children in public school practically because they are much ââ¬Å"freeâ⬠from burden. There were also those who prefer private schools thinking that these schools might provide better, quality education to their children especially for those seeking a competitive edge in college admission. A few considers home schooling best for their children for reasons that they can effectively tailor a curriculum that would best suit their childrenââ¬â¢s academic strengths and weaknesses, especially those with disabilities. Aside from home schooling, those with disabilities may be sent to schools which will cater to their needs like schools for the blind, deaf, physically and mentally handicapped, among others (Education, 2005). The Saudi Arabia and USA governments have put on these schools to encourage individuals to their full potential and share social and emotional experiences with their peers having the same conditions as themselves. The curricula in the special classes given to the students were tailored fit to their needs. For instance, the educational programs given to the blind and deaf individuals were different. For sure, blind students were thought of using Braille while deaf students do not. One variation the Saudi Arabia and the USA government have is the attitude towards education. In the USA, school attendance is mandatory and nearly universal at primary and secondary levels. School districts meet to discuss school curricula, funding, teaching, and other policies to further improve the education in the state. On the other hand, in Saudi Arabia, the government does not impose mandatory attendance in school. Although, it is encouraged that the free primary and secondary education are availed since education is given free and open to every citizen. The literacy rate for the two countries presented, are varied. The USA literacy rate is estimated at 99% for both men and women, whereas, literacy rate in Saudi Arabia is estimated at only 84. 7% for men and 70. 8% for women (Literacy, 2007). The Saudi Arabia government recognizes the importance of literacy in propelling the economy; hence, one of its objectives for the education sector is to eradicate illiteracy especially among adults and girls through several literacy programs. In the USA, despite the high literacy rate, the government is continually implementing programs to further develop the education sector. Religion is the main core of education in Saudi Arabia. The curricula developed conform to the Shariah (Islamic holy law) and the Quran. Men were trained of Islamic education to become members of religious clergy. They provide religious secondary education with focus primarily on Islamic and Arabic studies, although, the curriculum also includes general education. The schools which administer these were Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University and the Islamic University of Medinah (Sedgwick, 2001). On the contrary, education in the USA is not focused on religion but there are some schools which may offer religion subjects that are not quite extensive as religion studies in Saudi Arabia. In Saudi Arabia, education is segregated by sex. Education for boys is different from education for girls. Education is divided into three separately administered systems: general education for boys, education for girls and traditional Islamic education for boys (Sedgwick, 2001). However, in the recent years, education for girls was continuously being developed to meet the growing demands of the country. Unlike in the USA, education is offered to both sexes, giving them equal opportunity to study. The educational programs that were developed cater to both sexes. Grading scales were prepared to gauge the studentsââ¬â¢ performance on school. Grading scales in the USA and Saudi Arabia differ. In the USA, marks were given on the scale of A to F. In the criterion-referenced system, the equivalent grades of these to 0 to 100 percentile are as follows: A=95-100 or 90-100, B=85-95 or 80-90, C=75-85 or 70-80, D=65-75 or 60-70, and F is given to marks below 65 or 60. There is also the norm-referenced system where marks are given as follows: A=top 10% of the class, B=next 20% of the class, C=next 30% of the class, D=next 20% of the class, and bottom 20% of the class (Grading systems, n. d). On the contrary, the grading scale in Saudi Arabia was given as follows: 5=90-100, 4=80-89, 3=70-79, 2=60-69, and 1=0-59 (Sedgwick, 2001). The stages of education in both countries also vary. Education in Saudi Arabia starts with primary, followed by secondary, and higher education. Primary education is for ages 6 to 12. An intermediate education, which is part of primary education, is carried out for ages 12 to 15. Secondary education is divided into three: general, religious, and technical. These are taken by ages 15 to 18. The higher education is also divided into three stages: the baccaloreus (bachelorââ¬â¢s degree-4 years), darajat al majisteer (masters degree ââ¬â 2years), and doctoorah (doctorateââ¬â minimum of 3 years) (Sedgwick, 2001). On the other hand, education in the USA is composed of these stages: preschool (1 or 2 yrs), elementary/middle/high school (12 yrs), associate, bachelors, masters, and doctorate degrees (Structure: General Information, n. . ). The differences in education in both countries mainly lie on their history, culture, social and economic conditions, whereas, the similarities were bought about by their desire to provide accessible, quality education free and open to all. Education stimulates the people to contribute to its country in addressing the increasing local and global demands. This motivates the countries to improve and further develop its educational system.

Little Woman, Small World Essay -- Literature
In a small world, there is not much choice for a simple woman. Throughout history, women often are portrayed as the weaker sex. As a result of this assumption, women try to disassociate themselves from this custom and be more independent with their lives. One of John Steinbeckââ¬â¢s most accomplished short stories is, ââ¬Å"The Chrysanthemums,â⬠a story of an unhappy marriage of Elisa that takes place in the Salinas Valley of California. Elisa is coerced into a meager existence on her husbandââ¬â¢s ranch. Particularly for Elisa, the world is as small as it appears, and she does not want to be a part in it any longer. She is feeling trapped in a life of servitude and suppressing a yearning for more. Therefore, Elisa takes a bold step towards her own providence. ââ¬Å"The Chrysanthemums,â⬠is a coming of age tale for a woman and a wife named Elisa who is portrayed as feminine, subservient, and conservative, though the reality is that she is instead a masculine, frustr ated, and sensual woman who wants more out of life than Henry offers her. Therefore, her portrayal shows her dissatisfaction in her marriage. Several times throughout the story, Elisaââ¬â¢s portrayal shows her masculine gender role that that leads to her dissatisfaction in her life. Elisaââ¬â¢s strength is almost to the point of masculinity. For example, Elisa is described in the story as powerful, handsome, strong, eager, and lean (Diyanni 460). Elisa could easily be mistaken for a man on the way she dresses up. She wears manly clothes and could be mistaken as a man from the distance. The way she looks and dresses up, she feels limited and underappreciated as a woman which adds to her dissatisfaction. In addition, according to Elizabeth McMahan, one of the critics from short story criticism, s... ...d As Met.â⬠Short Stories for Study, Harvard University Pres pp.115-52. McMahan, Elizabeth E. High school Violence Essay
Violence is clustered within a relatively small percentage of locations, with about 60 percent of the violence occurring in 4 percent of the schools. This is about four times higher than would be expected based on national rates of crime. High schools are grouped by the nature and level of crimes occurring in the school. Four patterns emerge from this grouping: 1) No Crime, 2) Isolated Crime, 3) Moderate Crime and 4) Violent Crime. High Schools in each group are described in terms if their student population characteristics, community characteristics, and school violence prevention efforts. The results indicate that the characteristics (size, location, socio-economic make-up) of high-violence schools differ markedly from the other schools. High schools with the highest levels of violence tended to be located in urban areas and have a high percentage of minority students, compares to high schools that reported no crime to the police. They also tended to be located in areas with high social disadvantage and residential mobility. It should be noted, however, that a relatively large minority of the schools in the Violent Crime group were located in rural areas (36%), so that image if school violence is being solely restricted to central cities is not accurate. Proportion of High Schools has High Rates of Violence Analysis of the P-SDSSV revealed that about one in five high schools reported any serious violent crime (e. g. , fights with weapons, robbery) during the 1996-1997 school years. While this statistic gives a global indication of the prevalence of these crimes, it is difficult to judge from these data whether certain schools are disproportionately more likely to have high levels of violence. As long as the rate of violence in schools is greater than zero, one would expect at least some schools to have some violence. There are important implications if violence is clustered within a small number of schools. There may be specific problems in these schools that lead to high levels of serious problem behavior. Issues that arise in these environments may not resemble those in schools with lower rates of crimes. Similarly, there may be unique remedies needed to solve these problems. The types of prevention programs and/or activities that are needed to reduce the violent behavior might have to be tailored to these particular environments. Data provided in Table 1 provides estimates that measure the extent that violence is clustered within certain schools. These data compare the observed and expected number of high schools that reported a specified number of crimes to the police. As this comparison reveals, if serious violent crime had been evenly distributed across all schools, one would expect that about 45 percent of schools (100%-55%=45%) would have reported having this type of crime. Instead, only about 20 percent (100%-80%=20%) of high schools included in the P-SDSSV reported this type of crime. In other words, less than half as many schools experienced serious violent crime as expected. About four times as many schools experienced five or more serious violent incidents as would be expected if crime were evenly distributed across all schools. Similar disparities appear for the other two types of crimes. For attacks without a weapon, approximately 55 percent of the schools reported at least one incident. This was considerably lower than the 88 percent that would have been expected if these incidents were evenly distributed across all schools. for property crime, 67 percent of the schools reported at least one crime, while around 90 percent would have been expected to report this type of crime it were evenly distributed across schools. Table 2 displays an alternative way of looking at the distribution of crime incidents reported to police. This comparison is limited to schools that reported at least one crime. About 60 percent of the violence reported on the P-SDSSV occurred within the small number of schools that reported at least five violent crimes, more than seven times higher than expected. Similarly, about 14 times more schools than expected reported 26 or more attacks without a weapon (43. 4% observed versus 2. 7% expected). And nearly 42 percent of schools reported 26 or more property crimes, almost 7 times as many as expected based on school size alone. As can be seen from the crime rates for each group, the Violent Crime group has relatively high rates of all types of crimes. It has the most violence, with the highest rates of serious violence and attacks without weapon. It also has high rates of property crime. The Moderate Crime group is distinguished by relatively high rates of attacks without a weapon and property crime rates. The Isolated Crime group has relatively low rates of all three types of crimes. It does have a slightly higher rate of serious violence than the Moderate Crime group. However, the rate for both of these groups is extremely low relative to the Violent Crime Group.

Research Proposal of Dove
Brand is perceived to be in important intangible asset for company which gives company a cutting edge in product market through positioning in consumer mind. To leverage on success of brand, companies go for brand extension which is offering different new product in the same brand name. Such brand strategy is intended to be pursued to save cost of launching new brand, to minimize risk of brand failure and to leverage on success of existing brand.Organization who are in personal care product business often go for such brand extension treating brand as their assists where they try to leverage on their brand equity by launching new products under already established brand names (Vanitha et al, 2001). There are many factors that define the effectiveness and success of brand extension in personal care products. Perceived Quality of Parent Brand, the relative importance of fit of brand with consumer characteristics and mission of brand are important variable which determine brand success ( Park, et al, 1991).Beyond those factors, in case of personal care brand extension, media planning, brand development and brand management and public relation to communicate the brand are considered to be influential in evaluating the success of brand extension. This research work is perused to evaluate the effectiveness of brand extension strategy in personal care products in general and brand extension strategy of Dove brand of Unilever. The report will elaborate whether brand extension strategy of Dove was successful one considering the variable mentioned above. The report is prepared based on customersââ¬â¢ responses collected through survey and observations of branding expert to assess such effectiveness. The turnover from products launched under brand extension strategy will be dependent variable that will be evaluated against Brand Campaign, Media Planning, Brand Development and Brand Management, and Public Relation Strategy of brand. The study will be based on Dove brand of Unilever which will outline how company changes branding strategy with evolution of Dove brand. 1. 1 Background of the OrganizationUnileverââ¬â¢s journey as business organization started at 1872 as margarine business. In 1890, the company was named as Lever Brothers Limited. In 1930 Margarine Unie (Netherland) and Lever Brothers Limited (UK) merged and renamed as Unilever Limited. Serving 2 billion customers worldwide, the company is achieving annual turnover of â⠬51 billion in 2012 (Unilever, 2013). The company sells its products across 190 countries where emerging market now counts for 55% of the business. The company have portfolio of 14 cash cow brand that are generating â⠬ 1 billion sales worldwide. The company employs around 173,000 people around the globe (Unilever PLC. 2013a). The portfolio of categories shows that around 35% of revenue comes from Suvoury, Dressing and spread, followed by Personal Care which is about 28%, Home Care which is 18% and food and beve rage segment covers 19%. Unilever has a portfolio of 400 brands among which some are world largest in terms of generating ideas. With an asset base of â⠬46. 16 billion, the company has operating profit of about â⠬7 billion (Unilever PLC. 2013b).Dove is a billion brand of Unilever which is generating annual revenue of â⠬2.5 billion a year in 80 countries. Dove Brand was launched in 1957 as alternative to soap to care of dry skin. Since 1980 many product is launched under Dove brand ranging from body-wash, deodorants, body lotions, facial cleansers, to shampoos and conditioners through brand extension (Unilever PLC, 2013). Unilever terms Dove as a brand with a purpose. 1. 2 Rational of the Study Brand is perceived to be very important factor to position product in consumersââ¬â¢ mind. A brand image has become a salient resource and critical success factors of competition which gives firm competitive advantage in product market. To leverage on such competitive edge fir ms at times takes strategy of brand extension to leverage the success of existing brand to optimize and rationalized investment in brand. But such brand extension produced mixed result in terms of effectiveness or return on brand extension due to brand fit with product launched, functionality of brand and consumer attitude to accept new product (Kim and Deborah, 2008).To change consumer perception on the ground of functional benefit of brand, organization has toà reshuffle its branding communication to reposition brand in consumer mind which communicate a broader view of brand rather than functional benefits. The effectiveness of such brand extension depends on how firm develop brand, build brand and plan media to communicate the brand and maintain public relation to engage stakeholders (Bottomley and Stephen, 2001). Innovation of Branding campaign is another important parameter in this regard. The study will evaluate the brand extension strategy of Dove through examining through different factors mentioned just above to justify brand extension strategy in Personal care product category.1. 3 Business Research Questions The following research question will be designed to conduct the study. what is the brand extension strategy of FMCG company in personal care products What are the factors that affect brand extension strategy of an established brand in case of personal care products How brand campaign, media planning, customer attitude, brand development and management, public relation reshuffle brand extension strategy in case of Dove brand of Unilever What is the statistical observations of effect of components of brand extension in positioning product in consumer brand 1.4 Research objective Every research is conducted with fulfillment of some objectives in mind. Those objectives persuade the researcher to pursue research in this field of study to enrich the researcher intellectual observation. The following are the research objective of the study which moti vates the researcher to pursue this research. To review brand extension strategy in personal care productTo trace out the reasons that plays key role in developing brand extensions strategy in personal care products To explore the critically success factors that determines the effectiveness of brand extension strategy in personal care products To extract out how brand campaign, media planning, customer attitude, brand development and management, public relation played role in affecting success of brand extension of Dove brand of Unilever To evaluate the outcome of the study through statistical test to validate the findings of the study on rand extension strategy of Dove To suggest appropriate and specific recommendations and to provide conclusion along with mentioning the scope of future scope of study. 2. 0 Literature ReviewLiterature review is very important part of any credible research and it provides the research an opportunity to review similar and related previous research to take knowledgeable insight to design his or her study. The second chapter of the research will cover the literature review related to title of the research. The following sections will be covered by this chapter. 2. 1 Brand Brand can be defined as name, tern, sign, symbol or design, or a combination of them intended to identify the goods and services of one seller or group of sellers and to differentiate them from those of other sellers (AMA, 2011). 2. 2 Brand Extension and Types of Brand ExtensionBrand extension is strategy of launching and selling new product under an established brand name of other existing products to persuade customerââ¬â¢s perception with success of existing products (Monga and Deborah, 2007). Extension can be described as strategy to sell new products without establishing a new brand of the company (Chen and Liu, 2004). There are two types of brand extension mostly used in branding strategy. The following graph is elucidating such types of brand extension . Figure: Types of Brand Extension Source: (Kim and Lavack, 2001) 2. 3 The Reasons of Brand Extension There are logics why organization goes with brand extension instead of launching new brand for every new product. The most influential arguments are reducing risk and cost of launching new products, increasing sales and profit of the company and being able to ask a premium price (Alokparna and Zeynep, 2012). The other reason includes increase brand awareness and perceived brand value of the company (Smith and Park, 1992). 2. 4 Brand Extension in Personal Care products Brand extension in personal care product is more prevalent than other types of product due to homogeneity in product nature and communication of common perception to the consumers. From Unilever to P&G everyone does follow brand extension strategy more or less in their personal product portfolio (Xie, 2008). 2. 5 Factors that Determines the success of Brand Extension strategy Various factors brand extension strategy of personal care products. The given case outlined the following factors that were considered influential in affecting brand extension strategy to Dove from soap to other personal care products 2. 5. 1 Branding Campaign Branding campaign is very important parameter to change customer perception from a narrower point of view to broader point of view. Earlier Dove is considered a cleansing cream or moisturizing cream (Tom et al, 2012). Whenever Unilever intended to communicate Dove as Masterbrand, it reshuffles its campaigning strategy to communicate Dove brand campaign as ââ¬Å"Campaign for Real Beautyâ⬠(Deighton, 2008). The case produced the following discussion. 2. 5. 2 Branding to Change Customer AttitudeSuccessful brand extension strategy change customer attitude to the favor of new product launched under established product category. In Dove case, the branding campaign redefines the notion of beauty to the women of the world by saying that every woman possesses real beauty, w hich is merely not defined by size, skin or age. The brand defines beauty as function of self-esteem, feeling superiority about oneself. Such bold step to change women attitude toward beauty invites discussion and debate, which ultimately gave the familiarity of new product under Dove brand (Deighton, 2008a). The following comments are from Marketing Director of Dove. 2. 5.3 Media Planning Media planning is very important to communicate brand extension to new launched products. The effectiveness of media planning largely defines how effectively and efficiently message can be communicated to the target customers (Jack and Roger, 2002). Uniqueness and cost consideration are most influential ingredients in media planning where company favors to choose unusual media to attract easily customersââ¬â¢ attention and least cost media to save marketing cost of the organization (Clarke, 1997). Dove posted a filming featuring dove in YouTube for which Unilever did not spend a penny literally . 2. 5. 4 Brand Development and Brand ManagementBrand development is successful predictor of brand future. If an innovative and compelling brand is developed, it is mostly assured that brand will emerge as successful. Whenever a brand is successfully positioned in one product category, it is very easy to extend it to new product (Kumar, 2005). Successful brand development requires innovative brand development team, alignment of branding communication with characteristic of products so that they best fits each other (Monga and Deborah, 2007). In case of Dove Brand, extension brand development was separated from brand management in specific market. 2. 5. 5 Public Relation and Brand ExtensionPublic relation or PR is emerging as very effective tool in communicating messages of new brand or brand extension to customers. The recent observation is that impact of advertisement is falling and that of PR is rising. PR is more effective when it comes to matter of communicating credibility of b rand, saving of cost and clutter (Volckner and Henrik, 2006). Moreover, Brand friendliness with PR can formulate a compelling communication strategy of brand extension with low cost (Tom et al, 2012a). Public relation of Dove was compelling covering both positive and criticism comments from leading press and marketing commentators which gave the firm great publicity (Deighton, 2008). New York Times mentioned about PR success of Dove as below 3. 0 Research MethodologyResearch methodology will be third chapter of the research, which is mainly a roadmap of the research to the outcome, which will be employed with different type of methodology to extract out the insight from the incumbent research (Hunter and Leahey, 2008). The research methodology section will employ the following techniques. 3. 1 Design of Research The most important element in research methodology is research design which will be cornerstone for further research steps to extract out relevant information from collected data. The research design consist of planning of research, dissecting and collecting raw data and observations from the key stakeholders to build a harmonious research that will fulfill social objectives (Brymanand and Bell, 2003).The research design is launched with research philosophy. 3. 2 Philosophy of Research The research philosophy is very important ingredient of research design where philosophy concentrates on reasoning of rationality and scientific approaches, law of generalization to develop and establish knowledge. This research is based on positivism philosophy where transparency of research will be ensured through usage of true sense to make reproduction of information (Hussey and Hussey, 2007). This philosophy of research mainly employs scientific tools and techniques to reason knowledge of imagination extracted from observed behavior (Saunders et al, 2009).The research philosophy that stands against this research philosophy is anti-positivism philosophy which prefers people judgment on research issues. Positivism philosophy uses statistical tools which is not used by anti-positivism philosophy (Remeniyi et al, 2008). 3. 2. 1 Justification of Positivism Philosophy The justification for selecting positivism philosophy is that in this philosophy research is carried out on through objective manner to explore the cause effect relationship between exogenous and indigenous variables (Irving, 2006). 3. 3 Research Approach There are mainly two broad type of research is used by the researcher for conducting research. These approaches are induction and deduction approach. This research will be based on deduction approach, which is a top down research approach concentrating to relate research outcome with reasoning rather than a subjective general statement. This approach is very much relevant to bring a concrete conclusion. Deductive approach depends on earlier conceptual and theoretical structure, which is supported by quantitative data (Steinar, 2007). 3 . 3. 1 Justification of Deduction Approach The strongest argument of using deduction approach is that this approach is based on scientific principles, which leads to highly structured and organized ground for the development of research hypothesis. This approach is also relevant for collection of research data to elucidate the relation and dependency among the variables to prove the hypothesis (Kumar, 2008). 3. 4 Methods of Research Quantitative and qualitative two research methods will be used in this research through application of different qualitative and quantitative research technique. 3. 4. 1 Quantitative Methods This method will be used for collecting primary data collection. Different statistical parameters will be used under this method. The graphical presentation will be employed as instrument of quantitative method along with charts to display information more visibly (Churchill and Iacobucci, 2005). 3. 4. 2 Qualitative ResearchIn case of subjective measurement qualitativ e technique will be employed. Brand extension and product categories have many dimensions that are qualitative in nature which need subjective evaluation. This method will be used mostly in case of data which are nonnumeric in nature and more concerned with behavioral aspect of the respondents. This research has applied a mixed approach of research by incorporating qualitative and quantitative variable. Quantitative one has been applied to find the Effectiveness of Brand extension in case of Personal care products. On the other hand, to measure impact of public relation, media planning and brand management qualitative approach will be used. 3. 5 Data SourcesData will be collected from mainly two types of sources, primary sources and secondary sources. For primary data, population will be female customers of Unilever in London. Beyond customers, brand manager of Dove at Unilever UK will be asked for an interview, which is also another source of primary data. Total 100 customers will be surveyed and three managers will be interviewed. The primary data will be concerned with collection of data through a questionnaire that will ask about demographic profile of customers and research topic related questions where respondent will be asked on predetermined questions (Agresti and Finlay, 2009). The questionnaire will provide some statements and give respondent to put score based on their opinion. The secondary source of data will be relevant articles, books, website and annual report of Unilever. Appropriate referencing will be provided to authenticate the sources of secondary data. 3. 6 Sampling, Design and Size 3. 5. 2. 1 Target Population The target population of the research is all the potential respondents relevant to research study within some specific parameters (Churchill and Iacobucci, 2005). For the purpose of this study, the population included female users of Dove brand of Unilever UK in London. The demography of the respondent is developed in such a way th at customers from different age, ethnicity and income level is selected. 3. 5. 2.2 Sampling Sampling is a technique to filter respondent from population to conduct the study as deal with whole population is literally impossible. the influential sampling method is probability sampling where equal chance of each candidate from population might be selected. There are other sampling technique that could be employed in this research study which are random sampling, systematic sampling, stratified random sampling etc (Foss, 2007). Having considered time and resource constraint, convenience sampling technique is best suited with this study 3. 5. 2. 3 Design of Sample Design of sample refers to the process of selection of sample units.A self-administered survey will be conducted among the targeted sample and the in person with female users of Dove brand in London. 3. 5. 2. 4 Sample size A sample size of 100 is expected to be collected for this study. Beyond them 3 managers will be asked for interview. Enough time will be given to each participant to reduce the error. The questionnaire is designed in simple English to reduce risk of ambiguity. Respondents Number Female users of Dove brand 100 Executives managing Dove Brand 3 Total 103 3. 6 Data Analysis Tools and Techniques Graph, table and different diagram will be used to display data that will be collected through questionnaire. These will be done in primary data analysis. The core part of the questionnaire will be based on 5-point Likeart Scale. The questionnaire provided to female users of Dove will consist of close-ended questions and interview questionnaire provided to the managers of Unilever will be open-ended questions. To assess the responses C-alpha test will be employed. The following techniques will also be used in this study. 3. 6. 1 Usage of Statistical Tools for Analysis To examine, filter and transform the collected data with research objective statistical tools will be used for reaching conclusion and approving decision making (Panneerselvam, 2004). Data will be analyzed through application of most up to date statistical tools used in business research. Two distinct questionnaires were used in this research to analyze effectiveness of brand extension strategy of Dove brand. The following statistical tools have been used in this research.Graphical Technique: the graph will be produced in spreadsheet software of Microsoft Office Excel. In addition to generation of graphs, excel will be used in most quantitative analysis of the study. Pearson Correlation Matrix: Correlation matrix is in fact a technique to develop relation between dependent and independent variables. It mainly observed how variables are dependent of each other. Scaling Technique: Scaling technique will be used in this study in case of subjective evaluation of respondents. In this procedure, weight is assigned according to rank (Cooper and Schindler, 2008). Result will be presented as percentage through rank percent age analysis.Regression Analysis: Regression analysis is used in research arena mainly to calculate the dependency of dependent variable with independent variables. It incorporates different statistical test such as P value, t-test to assess the influence of the relation in terms of statistical consideration. The regression equation of this study will be as below Where, Y= Dependent variable (Dove Brand Turnover) ? = Constant ?1= Coefficients of brand campaign X1= Brand campaign ?2= Coefficients of customer perception toward brand X2= Customer perception toward brand ?3= Coefficients of Brand Development and Management X3= Brand Development and Management?4= Coefficient of Media Planning X4= Media Planning ?5= Coefficient of Public Relation X5= Public Relation e= Error term 3. 7 Ethical Consideration To complete research with appropriate research guidelines research ethics is very important. Considering ethical aspect of research enough time is given to the respondent of the study s o that they can depict their true view on research questions. Primary and secondary data will be used in this study. Consent from the respondents will be taken and appropriate permission will also be ensured for usage of their given data. Confidentiality of the responses will be maintained strictly to ensure privacy of their data. The disclosure of respondent identity will be based on their permission where if they are not willing to disclose identity, their identity will not be exhibited. Beyond that fact, usage of any secondary data from any source will be acknowledged with appropriate reference. Hence, the ethical aspect of research will be followed very strictly in this research. 3. 8 Possible Research Outcome The research is pursued to find out whether brand extension strategy of personal care product is effective through analyzing the case of Dove brand of Unilever. The incumbent researcher is very must interested to explore the association of brand extension through different factors in making success of newly launched products. The research will produce how brand campaign,à customer perception towards brand, brand development and management, and brand, media planning and public relation associates in making brand extension effective in case of Dove brand of Unilever. 3. 9 Limitation The main limitation of the research is the period allocated for conducting the study. Another important limitation is the inability to remove the biasness of the responses due to subjective nature of the data. Another limitation is the dimension factors related in brand extension in addition to mentioned factors, which might produce incomplete conclusion. 4. 0 Time Scale of Research The dissertation will be produced by maintaining the following time scale Task to be Executed Week 1 Week 2-4 Week 5-8 Week 9-11 Week 12 Questionnaire Development and Outline of the Thesis Survey Conduct Data mining and FilteringIntroduction Literature Review Research Methodology Data Analysis S ubmitting First Draft Submitting Second Draft Proof Reading and Error Checking Final Submission 5. 0 Conclusion It is observed that brand extension strategy in personal care products is more prevalent and effective than any other products. This research study is intended to explore the effectiveness of brand extension strategy of Dove brand of Unilever. The researcher believes that the study will produce valuable insight in such evaluation that will be useful for both the executives and academicians. It will also create opportunity for further research in this field of the study.

How TNT Pop Its Snappers Work
How TNT Pop Its Snappers Work TNT Pop Its belong to a class of novelty fireworks collectively called bang snaps. Similar products are called snap-its, poppers, and party snaps. Kids have been using them for pranks and celebrations since the 1950s. In case you were wondering, Pop Its dont contain TNT. That is simply their brand name. Pop Its are trick noisemaker rocks, commonly seen around the 4th of July and Chinese New Year, that pop when they are stepped on or thrown against a hard surface. They look like little paper-wrapped rocks, which, in fact, is what they are. The rock is gravel or sand that has been soaked in silver fulminate. The coated grains are twisted into a piece of cigarette paper or tissue paper. When the bang snap is thrown or stepped on, the friction or pressure detonates the silver fulminate. Pop its can also be ignited, although its not particularly safe to set them off in your hand. The tiny explosion makes a sharp snap that sounds a bit like that of a cap gun. Chemistry of Pop Its Silver fulminate (like mercury fulminate, which would be toxic) is explosive. However, the quantity of fulminate in Pop Its is very small (about 0.08 milligrams) so the little exploding rocks are safe. The sand or gravel moderates the shock wave produced by the detonation, so even though the sound is loud, the force of the pressure wave is fairly minor. Snapping one in your hand or stomping it with bare feet can hurt, but is unlikely to break the skin. The sand or gravel isnt propelled very far, so there isnt danger of the particles acting as projectiles. Generally, Pop Its and related products are considered safe for use by children. While poisonous fulminates of other metals would produce a similar effect, they arent used in commercial products. Make Pop Its Yourself Fulminates are easily prepared by reacting metal with concentrated nitric acid. You dont want to go making this in any quantity yourself because the fulminate is shock sensitive and pressure sensitive. However, if you decide to make do-it-yourself Pop Its, the silver fulminate is more stable if flour or starch is added to the crystals during the filtering process. You can coat sand with silver fulminate, wrap it in paper, and use it in the traditional way. Bigger is not better - be safe.

Apple Company Business Environment Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2750 words
Apple Company Business Environment - Essay Example It is expected that the continuance of this trend will encourage more consumer spending and pave the way for more investment by Apple in developing new products. However, weak economic conditions have continued to exist especially within the education sector in the United States. Many states are experiencing huge deficits in budget, which may hamper Appleââ¬â¢s sales initiatives within the educational sector. Most of Appleââ¬â¢s products and components are manufactured in factories across China through partnerships with suppliers and electronic parts manufacturers like Foxconn and Inventec (Housden, 2008). The fixed exchange rate regime adopted by the Chinese government is adversely affecting any effort by Apple to cut production costs, adding to the problems faced from tariffs and anti-dumping penalties (International trade regulations). Social The use of computers, laptops, Smartphones and music players is growing worldwide, especially in the emerging economies. This presents a good opportunity for Apple to widen its market reach especially within these new and relatively unexplored markets. Customers are more adept at using these electronic devices and the use of social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter has only enhanced the importance of computers and Smartphones for daily use (Aasend, 2001). Further, todayââ¬â¢s generation places high value on education wherein strategies like offering discounts on products to students are helping Apple capture consumers from an early age and ensure their long-term commitment and preference for its products. Traditionally, Apple has always competed with Microsoft especially within the Operating Systems (OS) segment.... This paper approves that the preceding sections discuss the far, near and internal business environment of Apple Inc. Apple currently faces several issues that it must focus upon in order to ensure sustainable growth in the future. The firm must engage in its current strategy of licensing and strive to improve the economies of scope between personal computers and electronic media. Thus, the need for Apple over the coming years is to evolve into a learning organization. Besides licensing and partnerships, Apple can also consider the possibilities of joint ventures with other companies, which will allow it to develop various additional competencies. This report makes a conclusion that Appleââ¬â¢s primary strategy should be directed towards developing media-centric technologies and products. Nevertheless, the company should also work towards improving its computing products. In fact, Computer sales accounted for over 40% of Appleââ¬â¢s revenues in 2008. Apple continues to rely on the leadership and vision of its CEO, Steve Jobs. Mr. Jobs holds a considerable equity stake in the company and is one of the main reasons behind Appleââ¬â¢s resurgence from virtual oblivion. The reaction from the markets and consumers if he were to ever step down is rather uncertain. Therefore, the dependence on Mr. Jobs should not be a limiting factor for Apple and the firm must devise ways to operate as an organization. Such an initiative will allow Apple to strengthen its position and act through collective decision-making.

Yoga Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Yoga - Research Paper Example But Yoga deals with the breath, mind and quite subtly, the soul. It releases the toxins in the body and harmonizes the whole body. Many people use yoga to lose weight. This is possible as Yoga makes a person calm, reduces stress and hence addictions such as overeating and alcoholism are cured to a great degree. Yoga is an ancient meditative technique proposed originally by an Indian sage called Patanjali. It is a Sanskrit word and its literal meaning is ââ¬Ëunionââ¬â¢. The word union is used because Yoga unites the lost soul of a human being back to its god. There are many types of yoga postures and these are practiced by the saints and sages in the Himalayan region of India. But ordinary people also practice it throughout the world. When I saw the various yoga postures I thought that I wonââ¬â¢t be able to do them. This is because they look very weird and seem to be inspired from the postures of the animals. For example, there is yoga posture called ââ¬ËSinghasanââ¬â¢ which literally means the ââ¬Ëposture of a lionââ¬â¢. In it one has to lie on the belly, lift the body up by hands, take the tongue out (like a lion) and make a loud noise at the top of oneââ¬â¢s throat (roar!!). But as I gleaned through the pages I realized that there were many methods which were very simple and extremely effective. The simplest Yoga posture is ââ¬ËShavaasanââ¬â¢ which means ââ¬ËThe posture of a corpseââ¬â¢ (Mumford, 15). I know this sounds frightening but it is quite simple. Just lie down on a flat ground or floor, loosen the body, relax the mind and follow your breath. Donââ¬â¢t move the body and be peaceful, like a corpse. After a few minutes the mind becomes very still and the body rejuvenates. This is the magic of yoga. I have always had problems with my concentration. I find it hard to concentrate on many things especially studies. My attention span seems to be decreasing day by day. I sought for a remedy in yoga. I saw many
